The doors from the den
The doors from the dining room
The french doors have made a huge difference-- they have changed the feel of the entire house. The den looks and feels more open now. Now we can see the beautiful china cabinet and china when we are hanging out. Without the doors, we only walked through the living/dining room a few times a week. Overall, I'm sure we'll use the front living spaces more often now.
With the holidays (and holiday visitors) coming soon, we wanted to get a few accent pieces to make the den seem more finished.
We found this white drum at Z Gallerie. It took us a while to decide what would work best in this small space, and I think we made the right choice. We are learning that white accents look great with the blue walls.
We picked up this white screen from Z Gallerie. It is a piece that we have been eying for months. The circles compliment the circles in the white drum.
Pres also picked out the white/mirrored wall hanging that is on top of the mantle. Until now, the mantle has looked like it is missing something. We still don't love the mantle, but it's getting better.
We were up late on Sunday decorating and organizing. All the activity made our friends tired....
