Learning Photoshop

I downloaded a trial version of Photoshop and am trying to figure out how to use it.  I took a few pictures of my friend's baby Camille yesterday and am using the photos to try different techniques.  Unfortunately, I didn't write down what I did each time, so I'm not sure how to replicate anything.
