So far this year,we've completed the following house projects:
1. Added French doors between the small, front bedroom and the foyer to make a "study"
2. Had the popcorn ceilings removed and the ceilings floated and painted
3. Had strand woven bamboo installed throughout most of the house
4. Painted all of the bedrooms, except the trim in the study
5. Replaced the light fixtures in the hallway and the dining room
6. Had the ceiling fans in three of the four bedrooms replaced
7. Painted some of the interior doors white from almond
We ran out of steam a few weeks ago and have the following projects hanging over our heads:
1. Paint the trim in the study
2. Paint the hallway
3. Finish putting away stuff (clothes, boxes that need to be stores, etc) that is cluttering up the extra bedrooms. This means figuring out an organized method for storing things like pictures, holiday decorations, and sentimental stuff that doesn't get used regularly.
4. Put closet doors up in the study and gray guest room
5. Put up framed pictures that don't have a home yet
6. Put pictures in empty frames (order pictures if necessary)
7. Put in quarter-round to finish floor installation
8. To the extent that we can, finish putting together the guest rooms and study
We absolutely need to finish those 8 things before the end of the summer. I would also really like to finish painting our powder room and laundry room. I have no idea when we are actually going to get to them.
Once we aren't totally broke again, we also need to do the following:
1. Frame a few prints/posters that are loose
2. Get curtains for all four of the bedrooms
3. Get furniture/accessaries to finish the study (nice bookshelves, desk, etc)
4. Figure out a way to disguise the litter boxes in the study
5. Get new closet doors for the doors that couldn't be put back up
6. Get furniture/accessaries to finish the aqua room
7. Get furniture/accessories to finish the gray room
8. Reconfigure the pantry
When we are ready for more house projects, we need to add crown molding throughout the house and replace all the interior doors. In a few years, we also need to renovate the hallway bath. Then we will be done with the house?! Is a house ever done?!
